“Did you know your mouth has a microbiome?”

With a lot of talk about gut health, let’s draw your attention to the start line. The oral microbiome is the community of microorganisms that inhabit our mouth, covering over 700 species of bacteria and claiming second place in microbiota diversity after the gut. Its delicate balance has links to our gut health and overall health.

In oral health, a symbiosis; a harmonious, balanced relationship between our microbes and ourselves is in play. Disruption to the oral microbiome from environmental changes, such as dietary changes or changes to saliva flow, can result in dysbiosis; a shift towards ‘bad’ bacterial selection. It is this dysbiosis that can cause disease.

“I’m here to promote symbiosis by helping you to manage your microbes, to maintain your mouth health, gut health and overall health.”
